Seeing the wind…

Do you know the definition of FAITH? It’s the belief that something you cannot see is going to happen.

What is the definition of FEAR? The belief that something you cannot see is going to happen.

We get to make the choice everyday of whether or not our belief is in Faith or Fear! We make this choice with our families, our businesses, and even when feeling like we are ready to take a new journey! Are you going to ask, share, or offer out of fear of rejection or hurt feelings? Or in FAITH that you are just doing what you love to do and want to share the blessings that come from it?

Matthew 14:29-31 reads He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

This is one of my favorite verses.  While Peter was showing faith by stepping out of his boat, he allowed fear to creep in.  The part of the verse that says “but when he saw the wind” catches me every time.  Can we really see wind? Or just feel the effects of it?

The very wind that Paul put his faith into to move his boat, turns into the very thing he fears the most.  Isn’t that the way it goes? One small shift in perspective can make us live in FAITH or FEAR.

Please know my heart, I struggle with the choice too! Some days are easier than others. BUT, when I choose FAITH, I know the “thing” works! Faith in others. Faith in my talents & abilities. Faith in my journey!  Faith in the one who brought me this far.

I am choosing FAITH. Will you? How? Share!
